Hello everyone:

I've been trying for a while now to run the** MCE** module because i want to perform Markov-CA. Anyway, I have 7 layers, i converted them all  to the same cell size (50x50 m) same extent and they all have the same spatial reference system. All of this, I did it in ArcGis 10.0.

In spite of all this, I still can't run the MCE to get suitability maps, because the programs says that some layers do not match. I don't know what else to do, I'm spinning here.

They all have different cell count, no idea why is that but maybe it's important to mention.

 

Thanks hopefully there is a logical explanation for this. Have a good one.

  Hi Gabriela,

  If you do not have the exact spatial extent for all of your input images, you will not be able to run MCE.  The best option would be for you to return to your source data in ArcGIS and ensure that it is clipped to the exact extent before you export.  Alternatively, I would suggest checking the metadata for your images within IDRISI.  Once you find the file (or files) that are dissimilar to the extent you wish to use, try the WINDOW module to ensure the same number of rows and columns for all files.

  I corrected the number of rows and columns, also the extent is the same. The count cell differs slightly thpugh (the cell size is the same so i am not sure why this is). I guess it should work now.

  Is there anyway i can import to IDRISI with *.grid? Or must i convert to *.tif or *.img?  Which format would you recommend to run the MCE module?

  Hi Gaby, if the rows and cols are the same, and the extent is the same the number of pixels in both imahes should also be the same! It seems to me that the documentation of the file does not match the image. How did you change the rows and col?
  These values should never be changed through the metadata, as doing that you are changing the documentation but not the image. In order to change both documentation and image you should use either project or resample.
