Land change modeler error: unexpected error condition encountered

Hello everyone,

 

I am doing the exercises form the tutorial IDRISI Selva, that means I'm using the IDRISI data, particularly the Chiquitania example for the Land Change Modeler. I performed all stages of LCM, but when i tried to run the model (with video included) I received an error message: "Unexpected error condition encountered. Please check the integrity of the operation performed, the data files used and the amount of disk space available"

I defragmented my disk and got rid of junk files, I have a lot more of space disk now and still the software keeps showing this error message  What can be happening?  Thanks you.

  Hello everyone,

  I have the same problem of Gabriela.

  I checked error requirement but I have always  the same message: "Unexpected error condition encountered. Please check the integrity of the operation performed, the data files used and the amount of disk space available".

  To make sure that this is not being caused by image resoution, extent, refernce system and data type I set land cover and  variable images with a proof window and covert all data in integer type.

  I try to prcess my images with a Markov Chain model (Change demand Modeling panel). The error message appears when I run  model in Change allocation panel. I can  produce a soft prediction maps but not the hard prediction one.

  Could anyone explain the problem I'm having?

  maybe your input data are integers or other numeric.  If so, RECLASS it in idrisi and then ran the model.  marcov takes classified data.  solved my student's problem this way very easily.

  Hello,

  I am also facing the same error while predicting LULC at change allocation tab, change prediction panel.

  I have enough space in my disc. And for your information, data type of driver variables is bytes and that of Transition potentials is Real.

  Kindly let me know if somebody has resolved this error.

  use CONTRACT tool with thining option to generalize the image and the  X, Y factor  =1 to retain the original pixels

  Hello,

  i am using land change modeler in IDRISI, at the time of running transition sub-model I am not getting  some of the transition map i.e a blank map with zero values appear. I am not able to proceed because of this error. don't know why is this happening. can anybody help me in this?

  Hi Gabriella,

  May be you need free space in disk. Try to save the data in a high capacity external disk.

  THE SOLUTION: Windows 10 - click on Start, start typing “Control Panel”, select it, and go to Region. Click Additional Settings. For “Decimal Symbol”, enter a full stop ( . ).
