Hi.
RADIANCE module converts raw satellite Dn values to calibrated radiances. Now, I want to convert the radiance to reflectance. How? Is it possible in IDRISI?
I appreciate receiving your reply.

Hi Mehdi,
To convert radiance into reflectance, you will need to use the ATMOSC module, which allows the user to correct for atmospheric effects in remotely sensed images.
Within the ATMOSC module, four models are provided: a Dark Object Subtraction (DOS) model, Chavez's Cos(t) model, a full radiative transfer equation model (FULL), and an Apparent Reflectance Model (ARM). In each case, the input consists of a raw image band and a set of atmospheric and viewing condition parameters. The output in each case is an image of proportional reflectances, expressed in real number format as a value from 0.0 to 1.0.
An explanation of each model can be found in the Note section for the ATMOSC entry in the Help System Files. I would strongly encourage you to review this content to determine which model is best suited for your needs.

This is VERY useful information that I did not really see explained in the tutorial. My University refers to this procedure as "adjusting for reflectance" and I could not figure out how do do it. Of course they are using another software program, so they couldn't help. Anyway, this should be better explained in the tutorial, maybe in one of the existing steps?
Thanks!
