I have IDRISI installed in two computers and the difference in performance is staggering although in paper it should not be. The detailed information:
Idrisi Selva 17.0
Computer 01 (slow): Dell Precision T7600 Intel Xeon e5-2620 2.00 GHz witn 8 GB ram on Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bits
Computer 02 (fast): Dell Precision M4500 Intel Core i7 M640 2.80 GHz with 8 GB ram on Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bits
For example, importing a 3 band Landsat takes close to 1 hour in Computer 01 and just a few seconds in Computer 02. What is going on? This difference is just noticeable in IDRISI, not in other applications.
