I would like to use the sst dataset (stored under ...\IDRISI Tutorial Data\ETM\SST) but i can't find the datasource.
Could you tell me from what (model/satellite/insitu) is it derived?

Here is the information on the dataset used in our tutorial. You can visit their ftpsite to see if they have updated data.
Sea Surface Temperature in Degrees Celsius
SOURCE:
NOAA Optimum Interpolation (OI) SST V2 data provided by the NOAA-CIRES Climate Diagnostics Center, Boulder, Colorado, USA, from their Web site at ftp://ftp.cdc.noaa.gov/Datasets/
MODIFICATIONS:
2 modifications were performed:
converted to Deg C by dividing by 100
LAND AREAS were masked out with this image:
SST_water has a value of 1 in water areas
