I have a series of climate data that involves about 100 rasters. I was able to convert ASCII to .rst with the Arcraster importing tool. But because I have 100 rasters I can't navigate one by one and convert each file individually. Is there a way I can iterate or batch process this step like you can in ARCmap?

To automate the process use the Idrisi Macro Command. See the Help section on writing this script for the particular module you are using. Unfortunately, this module cannot be used to automate repetitive tasks in Macro Modeler. You will need to use the Macro Command.

I used EDIT to create an XML file and then ran the file by going to file --> run macro tool. My script looks like this
ARCRASTER X 4*D:\ECOCLIM\Steph_stuff\Goats\Idrisi\CMD_Idrisi\PAS_ASCII\y_1905.tif.asc*D:\ECOCLIM\Steph_stuff\Goats\Idrisi\CMD_Idrisi\PAS_idrisi_ras\1904.rst*2*latlong*Deg*1.0
It worked, but I want to convert all the ascii files in that folder. running this script for each file isn't that different from using the arcraster tool manually. am I missing something? is there a way to change the script so that it will run all the rasters in a folder?

Unless you are able to program this is the only way. What you can do is to edit a file with 100 lines where you only need to edit is the input and output names. Sometimes this is more efficient in Excel. The macro command is intended to batch multiple routines but it can be used for your purposes, but not elegantly.
Macro Modeler is an easier method but not for importing, unfortunately.
