How to convert Global Data Archive 2 data (AVHRR NDVI) 0-252 to theoritical range of -1 to 1?

Hello, I have just bought Clark Labs Global Data Archive 2 data (AVHRR NDVI 1981-2001) but the pixel values are scaled 0-252. I don't know which is the formula to convert them to the theoritical range of -1 to 1?
