Landsat 8 Radiance to Reflectance

I am trying to convert several Landsat 8 bands into reflectance to calculate burn severity across a study area. I have imported the bands into IDRISI and converted them to radiance using the RADIANCE tool and the radiance band min/max information from the metadata.

I believe the next step is to use the ATMOSC tool to calculate top-of-atmopshere reflectance, but am unsure which model and information from the metadata to use.

The tool asks for either Lmin/Lmax (Radiance and DN 0 and at DN max) or Offset/Gain. However, the metadata only has info on: Reflectance Min/Max, QCal Min/Max, Radiance Add, and Reflectance Mult on top of the Radiance Min/Max data.

Which band-specific information should be input into the ATMOSC tool to obtain reflectance values for change detection mapping?

Dear Wayne,

You will be able to find the information you need in one of the several metadata files that accompany your data. You will need to check all of the metadata files in order to find the one you need. Be sure to read the "Help" documentation for ATMOSC, especially the Notes section, so you know how the parameters must be formatted in order to get the correct output.

If you have TerrSet, the software will be able to automate the process of importing and preprocessing Landsat imagery.
