Buffer operates outside of a raster class, but what to do if you want to extract stats on the inside of the class (like for examination of deforestation on both sides of a complicated boundary within a certain distance)?

Philip Scott reclass all areas from the feature 'outwards' to zero. all inside the buffer zone to one. rerun the distance or buffer modlule...
